Read general and special-licence seasons separately. Species, sex, weapon, WMU and draw authorization all affect which table entry applies.
Check the provincial hunting guideFishing seasons and waterbody exceptions
Find the exact lake or stream in its fish management zone. Open dates, bait rules and harvest allowances can differ between nearby waters; a zero retention limit is not necessarily a closed fishing season.
Check the official fishing rulesMigratory bird hunting
The two bird zones have different opening dates. Crane hunting is further limited to listed WMUs; spring Snow/Ross’s goose rules are separate from autumn seasons.
Use the federal district map and provincial licence rules together. The checker’s bird records cover August 2026–July 2027; future seasons remain unverified until reviewed.

364 reviewed rule entries are available for this province. Coverage is partial: each entry identifies its area, species, method and edition. Provincial big-game, upland and waterbody-exception coverage is still being expanded.
Open and closed labels describe the published window for the displayed scope. Conditional dates need a further check. Missing or expired rules show “Not verified.”
Check a date in InstaGuide™Regulations update schedule
Alberta states that fishing regulations publish in March and hunting regulations in July each year. Draw information publishes in May.
Publication timing is stated by the ministry. New editions and amendments must be reviewed before InstaGuide™ dates are updated.
